TRIP optimizes ATAF’s tax research and data analysis, enhancing African tax policies and administration through collaboration, innovation, thought leadership, and strategic knowledge sharing. TRIP consists of four interrelated projects and programmes namely:

  • African Tax Research Network (ATRN)
  • African Multidisciplinary Tax Journal (AMTJ)
  • Databank of African Tax Statistics (DATS)
  • Tax Administration Library (TAL)
  • Tax Outlooks (Regional and Continental)

In the period under review, 39 countries (86.6%) of ATAF’s member countries are actively contributing tax data, statistics, and analysis to the organization, supporting the Regionalization and Tax Research Information Platform (TRIP). TRIP will systematically collect relevant tax data from member countries, including tax revenue, compliance rates, and economic indicators through the ATO and the Databank of African Tax Statistics (DATS), Secondly, it will leverage modern tools like machine learning and big data analytics to extract insights from data to inform tax policy and administration. Third, through the ATRN, the AMTJ and the TAL, the TRIP will provide African tax knowledge and promote credible collaborative research and drive thought leadership in African tax systems.
