From 20–24 July 2025, ATAF participated in the 4th Tax Justice Network Africa (TJNA), and the African Union Commission Anti-IFF Policy Tracker pilot workshop in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire—a significant milestone as the first pilot to be held in a French-speaking African country, following similar events in Namibia, Uganda, and Ghana.
The workshop brought together senior representatives from over 13 government agencies, including the Ministry of Finance (CENTIF), tax administration, customs, justice, police, and property controls. The objective was to test and refine the Anti-IFF Policy Tracker in a Francophone context, ensuring it is both practical and adaptable across Africa.
Representing ATAF, Dr. Zebong Nyah and Mr. Moses Chamisa worked closely with the assessment team to deliver the event entirely in French—from the opening remarks to the technical pilot assessments—ensuring participants were fully engaged.
During the closing session, Dr. Nyah encouraged Côte d’Ivoire to use the findings from the workshop to identify and address specific gaps in their systems, turning the assessment results into actionable reforms.
The next Anti-IFF Policy Tracker workshop will take place in Liberia during the first week of September 2025, where ATAF will continue to provide technical leadership in shaping the fight against illicit financial flows across the continent.
