In just 365 days, the Seychelles Revenue Commission (SRC) one of the nation’s most vital institutions has embarked on a bold transformation. With a dedicated team of staff leading the change, SRC has fostered deeper engagement with both local and international partners, while shifting from a traditional top-down approach to a participatory operational model. This strategic transformation agenda, launched in June 2024, reflects a renewed commitment to inclusive governance and institutional excellence.

At the heart of this journey, marked by innovation, opportunity, and growth, has been SRC’s collaboration with key partners. Among them, the African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF) stands as a pivotal ally, offering invaluable support in best practices, policy development, capacity building, and digitalisation. This partnership has significantly strengthened SRC’s compliance frameworks and enhanced domestic resource mobilisation, reinforcing the foundation for sustainable progress.

With the steadfast support and capacity-building initiatives of ATAF, the SRC has achieved notable progress in reinforcing its tax policy framework, enhancing governance structures, and applying evidence-based insights and practical tools to elevate its international tax functions. ATAF’s partnership has not only empowered SRC to overcome key challenges but, through a shared commitment, has equipped the Commission with the means to advance the Seychelles tax system. Notably, SRC exceeded its 2024 transformation targets; a milestone that marks a meaningful contribution to the sustainable development of Seychelles.

Seychelles has proudly been a member of ATAF since January 2013. As SRC now enters the next chapter of its transformation, its focus turns to deepening digitalization, staff empowerment, and enhancing operational excellence. The Commission looks forward to the continued partnership of ATAF as it advances toward a more innovative, resilient, and future-ready tax administration.
